Loving in the Summertime!

That is the name of a song my big brother Chet likes.  But it is also a good way to tell about my summer. First, I have been to the beach.  It was a new beach and I liked it a lot.  I went with Lissa and Chet, and my Ooma. Rob could not come because he was at work. We made sand castles, we swam, I made a dolphin out of sand.  We played hot potato, catch and mother may I in the water. Oh and we played water tag! That was fun!

I spent last week at pottery camp.  On the very first day I made a batman mask and some beads and stamps.  On the second day, we made bowls with lily pad printing.  The third day we began our sculptures. (I decided to make Bruce the Moose to remember a fun camping trip I had.)  The fourth day we did our potters wheel.  That was really fun.  You have to use a pedal and there was slow, medium, high and stop. You centered the clay and you spread it apart as it spins.  You have to make a hole with your finger first.  I made a blate, which stands for bowl and plate. I also made a wolf named Buddy on a stepping stone. On the very last day I made a beautiful mosaic picture frame and I made some slabs.  That is when you take a big ball of clay and you roll it out and throw it around on the table.  That is a lot of fun and some hard work.  At the end of the day, just before 12  noon we would have a skipping stone race on the little lake near our clay camp.  I found a big flat stone and I got it to skip TWO times!  It was really easy!

I will put on a picture of my picture frame later.  My mom is away and she has the camera!  There is going to be a glaze day so that I can glaze the rest of my work and then it will be fired and then I can pick it up.  I am so excited about that!
